6. Create a headline for an article about this program targeted to graduating high school students. I am specifically not telling you what to do or the questions that need to be asked. Please explain what you did, why and any other reasons/justifications you need to provide to me for the headline you created. (6 Marks)

“Be the Best Among the Rest: St. Clair’s Advertising Program Awaits You”

The headline is specifically designed with the understanding that, at the time, most recent high school graduates were driven to succeed and stand out in some way from their friends. “Be the Best,” the headline’s opening three words, state this out loud. By implying that joining its advertising programme is more than just taking a step forward in one’s career rather, it’s a leap towards shining in the field it plays on the students’ competitive nature.

The word “Best” itself suggests excellence and peak achievement, qualities that the students want to exhibit. This is ambitious and aligns nicely with the goals of students who wish to succeed in their chosen fields.

One aspect of FOMO that “Among the Rest” addresses is the idea that there are other students in the crowd and that one can move up the ranks to become a member of that group. It, therefore, creates a sense of urgent need; if one moves quickly, the chance to stand out is there.

“St. Clair’s Advertising Programme Awaits You” gives the call to action a genuine, inviting quality that gives the reader a sense of personal connection. The message is that the programme is truly ready to welcome fresh talent who is ready to take the lead, especially because the opportunity is indeed ripe. It does this by casting open a wide range of chances.
